Jaden's Medieval RPG

 

What exactly IS all this?

      Well, Jaden's Medieval RPG is a 31,000 brick project (and counting) on Blockland that was all built for the purpose of a RPG (Role Playing Game). It uses various mods and add-ons which include VCE (Variable Conditional Events) V4, Amade's Bot events, and many weapon add-ons (see credits page for a full list). Although there are 4 main regions/lands you can visit, there is still room for expansion!

History

      It all started months back, in January of 2010. After I had gave up on my Mining RP project, other RPG servers I had seen gave me the idea of a Medieval RPG. So one day, I began. Starting with a simple base cube and slowly growing into what is now the main land. Most of the main land was complete, when i began opening my server to allow a few beta testers in. Their job was to play the RP, and report any bugs back to me. More people came to the server, and many were complementing the work done so far. Others were asking if they could help, and some were just enjoying themselves while quietly exploring the land. And then, someone came right up to me and asked "What do we do with the gold?" And that's when it hit me. What DO you do with the gold? I had asked myself this question never before, until now. I replied with a small "I'm working on it." and that was that. After scribbling down a couple ideas, I thought of the perfect solution. Guilds! I gathered some of the most trusted admins I knew, and we began to make the 4 guilds.
      Days later, while my server was open, someone came up to me, now this person had been on my server almost every time I had it up, and then they told me, "I've finished all of the quests." Well, now it would probably get boring for him and he would eventually leave. But I couldn't just make more quests, I was running out of room! And so, that's when I thought of making a new land. A cave! No... The arctic! How about both?
      In completion of the new land and quests, I thought, "Wouldn't it be just awesome if you could kill enemies?" I looked through my vehicle list and saw the perfect thing: Bugs! Unfortunately, it took weeks to figure out how to get them to work. There was always something wrong; they wouldn't hurt you, you couldn't hurt them... So I gave up.
      For a long time the build sat untouched, and one day, just before it was too late. I saw it right there near the bottom of the list in the 'Load' menu. I clicked it, I loaded it, and i fixed up anything that was broken. And then i remember why I gave up. But not this time. I remembered what a great hit it was and could have been! I was determined to fix it. Playing around with Team Death match, the minigame settings and the bug settings. I finally got it! 2 Days of hard work had finally paid off!
      I began to work on the new land - The Desert! I worked on it for a long time, alone. A few offered to help and they did, but it hadn't made a great difference. Looking at the huge land i had to work with, how could I finish all of this by myself. And that's when I gave up for the second time.
      Although I wasn't completely finished. Time to time I worked on it. And got it to a beta version with a few quests, and allowed some people to test it out. It was April and knew I couldn't put too many servers up due to my schoolwork. And though I hardly had a server, the build was never forgotten.
      And now here it is again, July 7th I decided to put it back up and make it a huge hit. I am determined to keep this build running for a while now, and I may need some help, but I know this time I will not give up!
